Fall in Ohio Skate Trip 2008: Day One

So,we wanted to plan a trip "somewhere". We decided to check out the path that the Bartos, Ray, Matt ,and Crew went on through and around Columbus, OHIO.

One month later ,11 people in a very packed van, six more in a car behind, a never ending cooler of road soads by shotgun, and we were on our way to Fall in Ohio! We left the Lehigh Valley around 1 am, drove straight through the night, and arrived at Grove City, the first park at 9am Friday morning. Besides some missing Homies, I wouldn't have changed anything.

We decided to run it raw and skip the hotels, opting for tents and sleeping bags instead. A idea that had us packing heavy since we decided to camp when it was still late August and 70 degrees out. However we really couldn't have asked for better weather. During the day we were breaking sweats in t shirts and at night we were wrapped in hoodies around the fire. There was a downpour of rain during the first night, but spirits were high we couldn't be dampened. (Including Ray, who didn't have a cover for the screen top of his tent, instead turning it sideways and huddling in the corner till dawn).

We Drove all night to first light.

The next stop of the day was Powell Park and this place is crazy, so smooth and so Flowy. Yes, Flowy.
This is where the second car of Homies linked up for the triz.

Most of us have been up since 8am Thursday, it was now around 4p on Friday. After a couple hours of skating, snake running, and laughing the beers were pop'in and I saw my first glimpse of the Dice. Some enjoyed the sun, some talked to the locals and some fit some rest in whenever they could. Either choice seemed to keep everyone happy.

I held my grip, but it sounded like Shiner picked up every pot on the trip. I heard he bought the dice, you guys might want to check for weights.

We went to search a suitable camp ground by some abandoned houses, but got really mixed messages as to if it WAS abandoned, turned out it wasn't.

We decided to get a legit site and settle in.
